Hand-Painted Plant Pots by Pau!

During the quarantine, I’ve been feeling creative and trying new things.

I love taking care of my plants and always looking for cute pots for them.

That’s when I thought, why not paint my own?

So far I’ve made Mountain Majesty pots in different colors, and a Spot Pot

with funky colors. I’ll be posting more designs within the next few weeks,

plus photos of upcoming art projects I’ll be working on.

Stay Safe out there and remember to wash those hands!

Purple Mountains Majesty

This past week I had the most fun project with one of my best friends!

Jenny lives on the west side of LA and has a very boho, spiritual vibe

going on in her home. She wanted to paint something cool in her bedroom

but not have anything too busy. We thought about a few different ideas

until we came up with a mountain majesty scene in different shades of mauve. I’ve done

something similar before so I knew I could make it look right. It took me half a day

(and half a bottle of wine!) to get the first base done. The next day I drove back over

to finish up the details.

Jenny was very pleased with the final look, and so was I! It really does

look beautiful and fits Jenny’s personality perfectly.

On to the next project!

San Jose/Napa Valley!

I had the chance to fly up to San Jose to assist the very talented Morgan Bricca, Muralist Extraordinaire! She really was the sweetest, and was so open about her experiences as an Artist. I appreciate the time I got to spend with her.. She’s a special soul who continues to grow everyday and has such a great attitude towards life. What a blessing! She set me up with her neighbor, Anh, a vietnamese hairstylist with a gorgeous Airbnb. Anh and her husband made me feel at home, inviting me to meals and wine..top notch hospitality! Take a look at some photos I took of her property. They have a chicken coop, bee hives, a tennis court, pool, and a bicycle she lent me to ride around town whenever I needed!

Brain Art Auction

brain
brain

I was asked to include a piece for the Chiari Brain Malformation Art auction; an event to help raise money for research of Chiari Malformation. I jumped on it and created a colorful canvas, inspired by the vintage textbook anatomy of the brain. I love the “old-timey” words we rarely use these days and I’ll admit I had to look some of them up in the dictionary. I added a RESET button to give the painting a modern feel, as we are living on the cusp of robotic humans taking over, in my opinion. I named this A Healthy Brain.

It was sad to say goodbye when my baby was auctioned off, but it was for a good cause. For that, I’m grateful to have been able to help people with this condition.

Here are some photos of the process of beginning to end- which took me a couple of days: Continue Reading »
